About Us
“Sweet Thunder Shakespeare represents the flourishing of a life long love of Shakespeare and a passion for connective ensemble. Some of our most treasured moments onstage have occurred during the International Actor’s Fellowship at Shakespeare’s Globe in London, and while performing at Pop Up Globe in New Zealand, where the playing style engages audiences directly. In other words, no fourth wall. Far from worrying that theatre cannot compete with screens, we have observed that screens cannot compete with interactive theatre. It gives us joy to share what we’ve learned, and are still learning, with the Bay Area.”
-founders Susan-Jane Harrison & Paul S. Jennings
Sweet Thunder Shakespeare is a newly formed California nonprofit corporation. See footer for details. We are currently being incubated through the support of the Douglas Morrison Theatre and Hayward Recreation and Park District, whose partnership has helped make this founding phase possible.
